4 Stars Awesome that it is Waterproof.. BUT….
I aM LOVING THIS CAMERA… It truly feel good to be able to leave it on a table and know that it’s ok if someone spills water on it… Another great thing is you can go Jet-skiing, water-skiing, waterfalls, pool, waterparks… you name it and you will be the only one that can actually take your camera with you..
Now on the bad side…. The only constant problem i have with this camera is that it takes WAYYYYY too long sometimes to snap a picture, and yes I know the trick of pressing it half way down first, waiting for it to focus, then snapping.. well, sometimes it doesn’t even go fast enough even like that…
Enjoy it…
5 Stars GREAT FUN CAMERA
I JUST LOVE THIS CAMERA!! I DISCOVERED IT WHILE ON VACATION. A GENTLEMAN IN THE HOTEL POOL WAS USING IT TO PHOTOGRAPH HIS KIDS UNDER A WATERFALL…I ASKED HIM ABOUT THE CAMERA, AND HE TOLD ME HE HAD DONE A LOT OF RESEARCH AND IT WAS GOOD. I LIKED THE IDEA OF A CAMERA THAT I COULD USE IN THE POOL OR AT THE BEACH OR ON A BOAT, SO I BOUGHT IT. IT IS GREAT. TAKES GOOD PHOTOS, IS EASY, HAS SO MANY DIFFERENT SETTINGS ON THE SCENE BUTTON. IT’S JUST SO MUCH FUN. I HAVE A LARGER, MORE EXPENSIVE, MORE INTRICATE CAMERA WHICH I LOVE, BUT 90 PERCENT OF THE TIME NOW I USE MY LITTLE OLYMPUS UNDERWATER. I KEEP IT IN MY PURSE AT ALL TIMES. I DISCOVERED THIS WEEKEND HOW GREAT IT IS AT TAKING VIDEOS TOO…AND IT IS NOT LIMITED TO 30 OR 60 SECOND CLIPS. JUST TAKE THEM, DOWNLOAD THE CHIP TO A FILE IN YOUR P.C., AND BURN TO A DISC….SO EASY, SO FUN. I LOST MY BLUE CAMERA ON VACATION IN FLORIDA, AND IMMEDIATELY CAME HOME AND BOUGHT A NEW ONE SO I WOULD NOT BE WITHOUT IT ON OUR MEXICO TRIP. THIS TIME I GOT YELLOW….WHICHEVER COLOR YOU GET, YOU CAN’T BEAT THIS CAMERA FOR EASE OF OPERATION AND GREAT SHOTS. THE ONLY THING I WOULD LIKE MORE WOULD BE IF IT HAD A GREATER ZOOM…..MAYBE THEY WILL ADD THIS IN THE FUTURE.
2 Stars Good point and shoot - poor quality pics
This is a great camera to keep in your pocket around town or in the boat. But the picture quality is pretty bad. I bought this camera because I am a student and needed to document my work. I ended up going back to my 4 megapixel digital camera because the shots I got with this camera were not good enough quality to send to my advisors. I have owned completely manual 35mm (film) cameras and this camera severely lacks the ability to be adjusted to enhance photo quality with regards to the environment you are shooting in. I’ll probably end up ebaying this or giving to my sister so she can take it to the pool with her kids.
4 Stars good buy
I like this camera. My only complaint is that certain settings have to be turned on in order to use all the features (such as panoramic) and the user manual does not explain this. Otherwise I’d say it’s a great buy and I know lots of people who have one and are happy with theirs as well.
5 Stars a great travel camera when you don’t want to worry about your camera
I bought this camera last spring just before a trip to Iceland. I was going to bring a bulkier, more expensive camera then decided I didn’t want to worry about my camera the entire time. Since some reviews griped about the quality I expected to get some “i was there snaps” with the camera and buy a souvenir book. I brought extra batteries and cards and I put the camera in finest picture mode. Because the camera was so sturdy and so small, I found myself taking a lot more pictures than I had planned (included in the rain and from horseback). I also got some great action street scenes because the camera was “non-threatening”. Instead of buying a souvenir book I used MyPublisher to make a photo album that included full-sized landscapes. No one could believe the pictures came from this small camera.
Since then I’ve tucked the camera in my bag to have at the ready. Some of the best pictures were taken at a family party. My 5 year old nephew grabbed the camera and went around taking pictures from his point of view. And his sister followed suit. I didn’t have to worry about them breaking or dropping the camera and we got some extra special photos of the event.
All in all I feel that in less than a year I’ve really gotten my money’s worth out of this camera.
Some other features I like: you can easily override the flash and the easy to access shooting modes. The only cons: the screen is not accurate compared to what I downloaded (the final pictures were much brighter) and is hard to see in bright sunlight. The battery indicator sometimes says the battery is low but I am able to take many more pictures past that point.
