1 Stars A fuzzy camera
An unwise purchase. I bought this for a specific use: to shoot pictures on mountain bike trips, and was attracted by the shockproof/splashproof/size features. My 14 yr old son had one of these, and was raving about it. Unwisely I did not look closely at the images he was taking. So when it arrived and I tried it out, I found it gave unacceptably fuzzy scenery images, with unexciting colours, and moving targets also were fuzzy. Thinking it defective, I then did a close comparison with the results of my son’s camera, shooting the same photos on each. Same result. I tried with and without image stabilisation, auto ISO vs fixed ISO etc, to no avail. So now am trying to sell/return the camera, and at same time telling our son it’s just my camera that is a dud.

As a family we have had many digital cameras. Mainly Canon Powershot (3 in last 10 years), also 3 Panasonic Lumix (2 large, one pocket) and a Sony. These are more expensive, but considerably better quality, and the cameras we now use normally are both Lumix. This is our comparison, and I at least expected the Olympus to take good quality pictures. For scenery neither of our two 760s do, and seem to go back to the quality of mid-1990s digitals.

My last 2 Canon Powershot both stopped working because the sensors died, after 4-5 years. I took the latest, a 2003 Powershot S400, into repair just now and was quoted an impossible $300. But while there I saw and checked out the bottom range Canon A460, for $99 on Amazon approx. Certainly without the size or robust features of the Olympus, but the picture quality seemed very good in comparison. At half price, I think this will be a better bet for mountain biking!

5 Stars Great Camera
This camera is small enough that I carry it right in my purse and have it with me at all times. Takes great pictures. The most important function for me is that it has the Image Stabilization.

4 Stars Great little camera
I bought this camera a week before leaving for my honeymoon, and with the rush shipping had just 2 days to figure it out before leaving. I am not in any way a techie but I had absolutely no problem figuring out how to use it and change some of the settings to meet my needs. I love its compact size, it was super easy to carry in the pocket of my shorts every day. It has so many features and shooting modes that I will probably never use but nice to know they’re available! The battery has an incredibly long life, the prints come out looking wonderful, and it is fun to use. Only concern is the time it takes to be ready to shoot another picture, but I rarely need to shoot several pictures quickly. Overall, this camera was just what I was looking for and I hope to be using it for years to come.

4 Stars Great!
This was a christmas gift for my daughter. She loves the way the camera works and the different scenes that you can use. She has taken many pictures and loves making frames for them with the camera.

Thanks.

5 Stars Great Price Great Camera
I bought this camera for my 14 yr old daughter for Christmas. She left the day after Christmas for a 12 day trip up north. She took a lot of pictures while she was there. The quality of the pictures are great for a point and shoot. She had a Samsung point and shoot before this and said there is no comparison between the two. The Olympus doesn’t have a long delay from the time you press the button and it actually takes the picture. It is thin and very light. If you are looking for a good point and shoot camera, this would be an excellent choice.
