I got this for my husband for his 40th birthay. I wanted to impress him by ordering and setting up an electronic device all by myself. “I did it!” all by myself, mind you, and he was impressed. It had to be easy to use or I could not have pulled it off. I only had a couple photos whos topes were cut off. And if I remember correctly these where pictures that where cropped to begin with.
I have a daughter who graduates in May. I may get one for her graduation party, fill it full of her childhood photoes and have it on display. It will be a nice way for me to pass on pictures I have been meaning to scrapbook for her all of these years.
5 Stars Excellent photo frame, especially for the price
This frame is the best priced frame with the most options. Initially, I didn’t have to change any sizes on the photos. There was only one shot that I had of my son where his head was toward the top of the photo that was cut off. So I resized all of my photos for optimal viewing. I’m not sure but I believe I may have used 452 pixels for the best view on one side and let the sizing feature of my program match the other side.
The only thing I didn’t like and this is just me - the slideshow function is soo sloooow. However, I created my own slideshow and was able to be viewed through the movie option. I wish I could have gotten one for myself but the stock was emptied and I opted to get two for family. Get one, you won’t be sorry.

i think that the people who are having “heads chopped off” problems don’t have pics that work on a widescreen frame

This product is weak. It is low resolution and the format chops off heads of people in images. I spent a lot of time trying to fit the picture to the machine before I fugured out the problem. I got a higher resoulion unit for a few bucks more and it worked perfectly with no adjusting the images at all. I suggest nothing lower than 8 inch size for these Digital Photo Frames. The Old folks (all in their 90’s) really love the 8 inch units. Be prepared to scan and process their old photo scrap books! Those old slides can now be of great value…
3 Stars without remote, you’re out of luck
This product is pretty cool in terms of being able to watch videos and listen to music from a thumb drive (and, of course, look at pictures). But the battery on my remote died almost immediately after I opened it, leaving me with a useless product until I go get another battery. Although there are buttons on the side of the frame to allow you to turn it on and off, you can not go through the menus without the remote. Dumb!
