An excellent alarm clock. Works with my Ipod (just had to remove the Itouch adaptor thingy), good sound quality, good radio reception, easy to use. Has two alarm times, allowing radio, buzzer or ipod for each.
5 Stars Solid, Good Value Radio Ipod Dock
I got the radio as a present for my sister and when she opened it, it looked durable and had a nice weight. Its a perfect solution because she had an Ipod Touch and needed somewhere to charge it at night. This does the job perfectly and it just replaced her old alarm clock radio. As an added bonus for her it was also able to play songs from her Ipod and use the Ipod as the alarm clock. All in all this is a great deal, its reasonably priced and has many good features.
3 Stars Good clock, lousy sound and radio
I got my wife a Nano for Christmas, and we needed a new radio in the bathroom. It had to tell time, charge a Nano, and have a small footprint so it would fit on a bathroom shelf.
It does those things well. Also, it needed to pick up our not quite local NPR station. It does that OK.
I did not expect good sound quality from this, but was a little surprised at just how bad it is. There is no bass at all, it sounds like an old transistor radio. For example, I walked in while Car Talk was on. I thought the brothers both had bad head colds at first, their voices sounded so nasal.
But for the few minute a day that this would be playing, I couldn’t see spending twice as much on a better system. Plus as I mentioned, footprint was critical. I did get the
Altec Lansing M402SR Moondance Glow Speaker System with Clock Radio, Snooze Remote, and iPod Dock (Black) for my daughter, but I knew she’d be using it as a bedroom stereo.
Bottom line: if sound quality is at all important, stay away from this.
Regarding the tuner, it barely met my criteria. It’s an analog tuner with a digital readout, The selectivity on it is pretty sloppy. I guess I’ve been spoiled by digital tuning. But we don’t need to change the tuning, so I got lucky there.
If I knew it was this weak in both of these features,I’d probably get something else.
1 Stars Would Not Recommend
When I received the product, I plugged it into the wall and it did not work at all. I returned it to Amazon. I’m just glad that Amazon has an excellent return policy that was extrememly convenient and easy for me to use, which helped ease the frustration of the product not working. I did not order a replacement however.
4 Stars user friendly and functional
I bought this for my husband for Christmas and he seems happy with it. He listens to music every night and said it’s easy to figure out. The lights are not too bright at night as noted for some other radios. The sound quality is not stellar but good for the price. It doesn’t take much room on the nightstand either. Over all I was happy. It doesn’t come with the adapter to put the i-pod in the slot but I guess that comes with the i-pod my son tells me. We purchased a replacement from the Apple store.
