Panasonic today announced the development of a twin-lens 3D digital camera, complete with 3D HD video capability. Â The new LUMIX 3D prototype will be on display at IFA 2011, one of the world’s largest electronics shows, from September 2-7, 2011, in Berlin, Germany. Â IFA conference attendees can visit the Panasonic booth at Messe Berlin, Hall 5.2.

In Consumer Reports’ first-ever evaluation of kid cameras, two models - the VTech Kidizoom, $40, and the Lego Digital Camera, $60 - stood out among the five models reviewed.

Digital camera makers Ability Enterprise and Altek saw gross margins for first-half 2011 slip on year by 3.11 percentage points and 1.74 percentage points respectively mainly because of falling average selling prices (ASPs), according to the companies’ financial reports.
